Outfit Inspiration: Cool Summer Nights

Welcome to a new feature on The Muslim Girl! Beginning today, I will be posting a new outfit inspiration every week that will focus on a particular theme or item of clothing or event. You’ll be able to see exactly where the items of clothing and accessories are from and how much they are. I hope you like this new feature!

Today’s outfit inspiration is Cool Summer Nights. With August quickly coming to a close, the nights are getting slightly cooler and a change in season isn’t too far off!

With the cooler temperatures hitting, there’s no reason why you still can’t wear maxi skirts or dresses! In order to transition into more of a Fall palette, pick colours that are more neutral. If you choose to wear tights or leggings under your maxi skirt or dress, they’ll also keep you warm if you’re going to be out and about.

Pair your maxi skirt or dress with a rust coloured or dark jumper/sweater that will keep you warm without causing you to overheat already. You can tuck your sweater in or leave it hanging for a more loose look. If you choose to tuck it in, add a chunky belt to complete the look.

If you’re a hijabi or if you like wearing scarves around your neck, wear a patterned scarf to add some fun to the solid colours. You can go with anything in the same colour family as your skirt or jumper. I picked a cheetah print scarf because the colours of black and brown go with pretty much anything.

Summer isn’t completely gone yet, so add some cute, pastel flats to add a pop of colour! Or if you’re going out somewhere nice, add some bold heels for a fun, slightly dressier look.

Complete your look with a black bag that goes with everything. I used a messenger bag here for more versatility, but if you’re going somewhere nicer, you could easily switch it for a black clutch.

This is a great way to stay warm in on those nights when it’s starting to get a little colder. Hope you found this Outfit Inspiration useful!

Keep smiling, beautiful girls.

With love.
