Forgive and forget. It’s a phrase we hear often, yet don’t adhere to. Like so many things, it’s easier said than done. Especially when we feel wronged and angry. Especially when the person who has wronged us hasn’t apologized.
But forgiving someone isn’t just for that person’s sake; it’s for you. Instead of letting anger and hurt fester inside of you, affecting your relationships and life, forgive. Instead of becoming consumed by one thing that happened, move beyond it and forgive. Instead of cursing the other person, pray to God to guide them and forgive.
Remember that Allah promises us forgiveness for every time we repent. If God is not above forgiving us our sins, then who are we not to forgive those that have wronged us?
